Kory Woods is a sports journalist who brings the people behind the numbers to life.

In his current role as the NFL beat writer for MLive, he writes about the Detroit Lions through a human-centered lens to amplify culture and equity.

Beyond journalism, Woods is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he mentors young adults, leads service initiatives and engages in civic efforts to strengthen communities. Additionally, he is an intern with Michigan Action Plan – Father Involvement at the University of Michigan, promoting paternal engagement and familial stability.

Woods, a Pontiac resident, earned his bachelor’s degree in media studies and journalism from Eastern Michigan University and master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan.
